MOST LIKED POSITIVE REVIEW: Had these with a progressive lens

I was really impressed with the lightweight frames. And this was my first purchase of progressive lenses. I was excited to save a lot of money on these frames and lenses from standard retail. However, after about a week, the bottom of one of the lenses cracked right where the string holds the lense to the frame (and i am talking about barely placing them on the nightstand before bed). Because it is only a string, and the lens was thicker on the bottom (progressive lenses get thicker on the bottom), there was a lot of surface area edge, with nothing to protect the lens from breaking where the edge of the lens is cut(weakened) to place the string to hold the lens to the frame. So I would not recommend getting progressive lenses with a half rim frame. I could have gone with the thinner polycarbonite or even thinner lenses, but I also wanted the photochromatic lenses, which only came in the 1.57 lens size. So now I am out the purchase price of these lenses after only a week. So even though these say progressive, I would not recommend them for progressive lenses. Had to buy a new pair of glasses.... MOST LIKED NEGATIVE REVIEW: Too easy to break.

I am a careful user. The frame looks good. But after little over one year normal using my glasses, I have broken this frame 3 times. All of them broke at the corner of the bridge. I believe the materiel for the bridge is too fragile. Do not buy this frame.... Read the Full Review

These frames are nice, but they broke in the middle after about a year and a half. A couple of months prior, the paint started wearing off the top and the middle.

So far, they are a keeper
  • Pros Comfortable ,   wife likes them ,   Stylish
  • Sizing Feels True To Size
  • Best Uses Reading ,   Extra Pair ,   Computer
  • Describe Yourself Casual Dresser ,   Casual ,   Other ,   computer engineer
  • Lenses Accurate Prescription ,   Light Weight ,   No Glare

I purchased these as a replacement for my extra pair which are my bifocals. The lens script seems to be spot on with my $400 single vision pair I had previously purchased. Very comfortable, and the lens coatings seems good so far. Smudges and glare are always a concern for me.

Looks nice, breaks easily

Second pair of these in just a couple of years. Thought the first break was a fluke, but the second broke in the same place - the bridge. Right in the very middle. They might work for a sedentary middle aged man, but not an active 24 y/o.

I was happy for 353 days
  • Pros Stylish ,   Comfortable

Just short of a year the right temple broke across the screw hole. They'd been a bit loose and I though I'd lost the screw until I realized the the screw was still there. I would have ordered a replacement frame w/o lenses but the color was no longer available, so I'm trying the sister frame 314612

Lightweight but the bridge broke
  • Pros Fits Well ,   Comfortable
  • Cons Break Easily ,   Other
  • Sizing Feels True To Size

Lightweight glasses, but these glasses continually slipped down my nose. I don't know if this is because the temples are extremely thin or if the temple length is too great. I had these glasses for a little over a year when the bridge broke right in the middle under a moderate amount of pressure.

Work nicely as sunglasses
  • Lens Tint Just Right

  • Best Uses Driving ,   Travel ,   Reading ,   Extra Pair ,   Sunglasses ,   General/Distance
  • Describe Yourself Formal ,   Casual Dresser ,   Casual
  • Lenses Light Weight

I bought these as polarized amber sunglasses on gray frame. They're great for this, deep and wide enough to avoid too much glare under and around the lens. I haven't had them long, but the flexible bridge and legs should make them durable even though it's not a sprung hinge.

What an ingenuous product! I loved them so much I bought a pair for my dad who uses them now more than his $200 ones.
