Winter Fashion Sneak Peek: Holiday 2012/2013 Glamour Glasses
With only a few months to go until the holidays and the winter parties (and cooler workdays) that go with it, it’s the ideal time to take the pulse of fashion for this season. Chivalry is not at all dead as the Regal Lady, or ‘Old Hollywood’ style is going to be all the rage. Think elegant, embellished and extravagant and you’ll be ready to sparkle.
Office Geek Chic
For work or school, Geek Chic still rules. Don’t think just Christmas Holly around the holidays, but also Buddy Holly as his glasses inspire the trendiest eyewear shape this fall and winter.
The geeky look covered with thick-sided, black frames to wear with all kinds of suits and coats is really in this season. Prescription geek glasses are ideal for buttoned-up dress shirts, while semi-nerdy sunnies are perfect for pairing with a stylish jacket or warm coat for those sunny, but chilly days.
Hip To Be Square
Dior sunglasses for winter 2013, in the Cherie Campaign featuring Mila Kunis (Black Swan, That 70s Show) give glamor galore with huge square lenses and lots of jeweled accents.
The fashion colors are delicious too — like the pea green to match designer Trussardi’s button-up, leather dress with full skirt. Cat-eye glasses styles are also fashion forward and fabulous — especially for ultra-feminine holiday clothes
Strong tortoiseshell patterns worn with a mix of other patterns is one of the top looks in store this winter. Cat-eye or rectangular tortoise glasses add creative glamor to pattern-rich outfits.
The trick is to keep the mix of pattern colors limited to blacks and browns with only one or two other hues entering into the (graphic print) picture. Detailed diamonds repeated in rows are seen in the fall/winter 2012/2013 line up in either reds worn with royal blues or orange mixed with dark neutrals.
