17 days agoAs I've gotten older, my near vision has declined. This is annoying when I drive because I often can't focus on the words on my car's infotainment display.
So, I decided to try a pair of progressive lenses (brown-to-blue gradient Post Up) with a gradient lenses (brown to amber). I splurged for the trivex lenses too with the wider focal area.
First off, the gradient tint looks awesome with the 2-tone frame shade. My wife thinks they look fantastic on me.
Second, the top part is clear and easy to see at a distance. The mid part is a little awkward as I haven't found the range where it focuses better than the low part (I suspect it might be around 4-5 feet where I see fine anyway). The low part is excellent for reading through the lighter amber tint of the gradient lenses. I do find myself tilting my chin up slightly when I drive to look at the instrument panel. I can see it through the mid lense, but it's much sharper through the reading lens.
In this way, I am effectively using them like a bifocal, but functionally, I haven't run into any issues where I can't see anything crystal clearly.
